Photography is a hobby that Gino has always been passionate about. After his children were born, he began to capture every possible moment of their childhood. When his daughter, Joylyn Yang (2007, 2008 US Junior National Champions and 2010 US National Bronze), started ice skating, it provided him another opportunity to capture more special memories as she improves in the sport.
Gino’s photos have been highly rated by the coaches, the parents, and the skaters. The photos provide not only wonderful memories for the skaters and family, it also serve as a good learning tool that the coaches can use to point out the quality poses or areas of improvement.
Gino has been taking the skating events in the Bay Area since 2004 including most of the major skating competitions such as Silicon Valley Open, Skate St. Moritz and Skate San Francisco. "Gino's photography surpasses them all! He took many sport action shots of my daughter's skating and I was impressed from the moment I first saw his photos! We have had other action photographers photograph our daughters (not by choice) and were disappointed on countless times. It came to the point I'd only buy the photos if Gino was working the event. We hired him to shoot our girls birthday parties and he captured all the precious moments perfectly. These memories will last a lifetime thanks to Gino.
Gino is hard working, a perfectionist that always has the clients needs in mind. Gino goes above and beyond any photographer I have known! You won't be sorry working with Gino for any event you may need his service for. I highly recommend him!"

"As a figure skating coach, I believe that action photos are important to a skater's artistic and technical development. Gino's photos capture the essence of my skaters' performances and reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the elements in their routines. The photos vividly depict each skater's interpretation of the music and connection with the audience by capturing the facial expressions that are often hard to see on video. Skaters also have the opportunity to examine their body positioning during jumps and spins in the photos. Ultimately, I have found Gino's photos to be an extremely useful tool in helping my skaters and myself to define the areas in which they need to improve."
- Cohen Duncan,  figure skating coach

"Gino is not just a photographer.  He is an artist.  Through his camera lens, he takes you on an emotional journey.  His photographs allow the spectator a rare glimpse into the mind of the skater.  You feel the warmth of their smiles, the power of their jumps, and the agony in their falls.  From the first stroke to the final spin, Gino’s talent does not falter.  Gino is the best!"

"Gino,
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful action photos that you have taken of Katie at various skating events and competitions. Your work is outstanding. No one has captured Katie's bielman or layback spin as beautiful as you have. I have purchased many action photos throughout the years & yours are the best. Thank you."
- Sara Dano, parent of Katie Dano, 2008 Philippines Junior Ladies Champion

"When I look at the photos from Gino compared to others, the overall quality is so much better.  Each photo is clear, in focus, and catches me in a different position other photographers do not capture.  I always love Gino’s work."
- Elyse Matsumoto, Skater, Intermediate Lady and Gold Ice Dancer
